AKOVA, finalist in the prestigious Musicoz songwriting awards and Unsigned Only world songwriting competition.
He is formerly of Roots, Reggae ensemble Shoebox who shared the stage with acts such as G Love & Special Sauce, Ozomatli, Tijuana Cartel & played a string of festivals including Blues Fest, Byron Bay 2010.
AKOVA has embarked on a new solo venture; already he’s making waves in the surfing community and along the east coast of Australia. This incredible multi-instrumentalist transfixes audiences. He plays high energy, uplifting Roots stripped back to raw elements. Effortlessly mixing genres in such a masterful way. With guitars, vocals, cajon, djembe, ankle bells, ukulele, kazoo + an assortment of other percussion instruments.

With tribal drumming, driving rhythms and lyrics that make you glad to be alive. AKOVA has no problem filling a festival stage with sound. Such as Nimbin Roots Festival, Byron Bay Reggae Fest, Home Festival, Swell Fest, Bleach, Festival of Love, Surfers Paradise Festival and D'Alliance. Shared the stage with Ash Grunwald, Phil Emmanuel at Singing For The Unsung SES Benefit, King Tide, US sensation Set Sail and Raz Bin Sam and the Lion I. Headlined Cavestock 2011. Just released his single "Lets Get Messy" which is currently being played on national radio. AKOVA has now released his debut CD, Earth Recruit.
